School of Communication
The School of Communication traces its roots back to the earliest journalism program at the associate degree level, which was established in Guangxi in 1985. Through 39 years of inheritance and development, the school now has cooperatively built a Digital Creative Industry School with enterprises and has set up five majors including Digital Communication Art Design, Advertising Art Design, Journalism Editing and Production, Broadcasting and Hosting, and Film and Television Animation, with over 2,000 students currently enrolled. The faculty and staff of the school consist of more than 60 full-time employees, including senior journalists, editors, writers, directors, hosts, advertising creative designers and animation designers. Among them, there are 3 senior journalists and professors, 10 associate professors and senior craftsmen, and more than 50 industry experts, scholars, and backbone personnel are employed as part-time teachers.
The school aims to cultivate compound talents suitable for the era of all-media, implementing a "project + studio" talent cultivation model. It has closely cooperated with more than 30 media organizations and companies both inside and outside the region, such as Beijing Douyin Information Service Co., Ltd., Beijing Huoxing Era Technology Co., Ltd., Guangxi Broadcasting and Television Station, and Guangxi Six Elephants Technology Co., Ltd. Students have the opportunity to participate in short-term or long-term training projects during their studies, learning advanced concepts and technologies.
Advertising Art Design, as a major built by the national high-level professional group, cultivates high-quality talents who understand printing, have creativity, and are good at expression, serving the advertising industry and publicity departments of enterprises and institutions. Digital Media Art Design, as a high-quality major of the autonomous region, focuses on video production, virtual reality, and interactive design, cultivating talents for the film and television and digital media industries. Journalism Editing and Production, as a pilot major for national vocational college education reform and a backbone major recognized by the Ministry of Education, is committed to cultivating talents for news publicity in the era of integrated media. Broadcasting and Hosting major focuses on cultivating professional and practical broadcasting and hosting talents to meet the needs of the media and emerging industries.
