School of Art and Design
The School of Art and Design has over 2,200 students and a faculty of 78 members, offering five majors: Environmental Art Design, Art Design, Garden Engineering Technology, Interior Art Design, and Construction Engineering Technology. The Art Design Professional Group focuses on the fields of agricultural tourism creativity and the inheritance and innovation of local cultural characteristics, actively adapting to the transformation and upgrading of the cultural creativity and tourism industries, as well as adjustments in the construction of characteristic parks and towns by Guangxi State Farms. The school advances the reform of “Project+Studio" talent cultivation mode continuously and maintains its close cooperation with leading digital design company V-Ray City, to deepen industry-education integration and foster high-quality cultural creativity design talents. This has led to the establishment of one autonomous-region-level advantageous major, one national key professional group under the National Backbone Institutions Construction, one autonomous-region- level demonstration specialty and training base, two national-level quality courses, one national-level quality resource sharing course, two first prizes and one third prize for autonomous-region-level vocational education teaching achievement awards, three "1+X" certificate pilot projects. Besides, the School of Art and Design contributes to two national-level teaching resource databases, and hosts one autonomous-region-level vocational education resource database. Aligning with the innovative chain involving "Agricultural Tourism Planning, Landscape Design-Rural Architecture Design, and Tourism Handicraft Design-Rural Construction and Management" in the modern integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism, it constructs an integrative training base for the Art Design Professional Group that combines training, certification, competition, production, research, and innovation, based on the typical work tasks throughout the job clusters. This includes the Construction Engineering Technology Training Center (Autonomous Region Demonstration Construction Base), Environmental Art Design Training Center (Autonomous Region Demonstration Specialty and Construction Base), Garden Engineering Technology Training Center (National Backbone Institutions Construction Project), Building Decoration Engineering Technology Training Center, and the first batch of Autonomous Region Model Bases for the Inheritance and Innovation of Ethnic Culture (Tea Culture) Vocational Education. Additionally, there are two established doctoral workstations, one master studio for Cultural Creative Product Design, two master studios for Nixing Pottery, one Guangxi Ethnic Culture Inheritance and Agricultural Environment Planning & Design Service Center, one Center for the Integration and Development of Agriculture and Tourism, and one Guangxi Tea Ware Museum.
