Guangxi Vocational & Technical College

Guangxi Vocational and Technical College was formerly known as Guangxi Labor College founded in 1965. In 1998, it was approved by the Ministry of Education and became one of the first public higher vocational colleges in Guangxi to be restructured independently. In 2019, the College was recognized as a national high-quality higher vocational college by the Ministry of Education, and was selected as a high-level specialty cluster constructing unit of the "Construction Plan for the High-level Higher Vocational Colleges and Specialties with Chinese Characteristics". The College has been awarded the honorary title of "Outstanding Unit for Employment and Entrepreneurship of College Graduates in Guangxi" for 20 consecutive years, and "Guangxi Outstanding Education Unit for Overseas Students" for 3 consecutive years. In 2023, it was selected as one of the universities and colleges constructed to be Overseas Students Studying in Guangxi Bases of China-ASEAN Education Opening-up and Cooperation Experimental Zone. Located in Nanning Airport Economic Zone, the College has beautiful scenery and a strong cultural atmosphere. The campus covers an area of 628,800 square meters, with a total school building area of 363,400 square meters. The total green area of the campus is 328,000 square meters, with a green coverage rate of 82%, and the green coverage rate for main roads reaches 100%.

The College focus is placed on Guangxi's advantageous characteristics of agriculture, regional key industries, and strategic emerging industries, with tea being a feature and an aim of the promotion of the integrated development of "agriculture, industry, business, art and health" to exert a radiation effect on ASEAN countries. 47 majors for enrollment are offered. The College-running principle of "service, cooperation, and openness" contains the laws of higher vocational education, which has set off the "Guangxi Vocational and Technical College Fever" of technical and skilled personnel training. Over the years, focusing on the economic and industrial development needs of Guangxi and ASEAN countries, the College has built a new model for the international development of vocational education and promoted the "Chinese + vocational skills" to go global by improving the international student training system, strengthening the construction of teaching resources, building an online open course platform, and promoting the localization of "Chinese + vocational skills" education. Through inter-school cooperation, school-industry-enterprise cooperation, and other ways, full-time international student education, inter-school exchange, Chinese + vocational skills training, and other projects have been carried out. The College vigorously implements ASEAN-oriented vocational education exchanges and cooperation. In 2016, the school initiated the establishment of the China-ASEAN Border Vocational Education Alliance, built the "China-Thailand Institute of Modern Craftsmanship of Intelligent Manufacturing" with Thailand, and constructed the "Silk Road Tea Institute" with Thailand, Indonesia, and other countries.
